This palisander wooden backgammon board is a handcrafted piece that blends utility with artistry: the exterior front is adorned with a hand‑engraved village scene, where houses, sun, and foliage evoke community and warmth, while the interior reveals a geometric eye motif engraved into the wood, symbolizing protection and watchfulness. The set includes plexiglass checkers, each engraved and inlaid with a house motif in nacre (mother‑of‑pearl), shimmering with iridescent detail. Together, the polished palisander, engraved motifs, and luminous nacre create a dialogue between tradition and play, permanence and light, making this backgammon board both a functional game and a cultural artwork.
